Robert Abair has two Master Degrees, a MA in Religion from Vanguard University and a MA in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University.
Bob's experience in Public Child Welfare began as a Senior Social Worker for the Department of Children and Family Services in Orange County, where he has been working since 1996. His first assignment was in a court program as a continuing SSW carrying a caseload of infants and young children who were either prenatally exposed to drugs or were impacted by parents who were drug addicted. His second assignment was in Juvenile Dependency Court as a Court Officer where he acted as a liaison between the social worker and the bench officer. Subsequently he was promoted to Senior Social Services Supervisor (SSSS) in the Group Home Program.
After working as a Social Services Supervisor for 5 years, Bob transferred to Orange County's Human Resources and Career Development as a Trainer for Children and Family Services and other Social Service Agency specific trainings.
His experience in training includes:
- Co-trainer for "New Worker Training", a 10-week training for new social workers
- Juvenile Court Roles and Responsibilities
- Structured Decision Making
Additionally Bob is Orange County's Children and Family Services New Employee Orientation coordinator in which he plans, develops and works with other trainers to facilitate their new employee orientation training for newly hired social work staff. He is also the Orange County liaison to the Public Child Welfare Training Academy.
Apart from his considerable work life, Bob is married and has three wonderful boys. |
