Matt received his BA in psychology at Cal State Long Beach and
his MSW at UCLA. Earlier in another life, he majored in Radio/Television
at the University of Arizona in Tucson .
He has been working or volunteering in the HIV/AIDS field since
1986. He worked in several capacities until he received his MSW
in 1991 when he began working in, the Tom Kay Clinic, a LA County
HIV clinic in Long Beach.
In 1996, he began training for the Office of AIDS Programs and
Policy providing a Case Management Certification Training and providing
clinical supervision to case managers working on an HIV Adherence
study. He has also been on faculty in the Social Work Department
of Whittier College.
Currently he works as Training Coordinator at AIDS Project Los
Angeles (APLA) in the Mental Health Department as the Training Coordinator.
He recruits, trains and provides clinical supervision for the Intern
Training Program.
As a consultant, he also provides CEU trainings in Human Sexuality,
HIV/AIDS and Intimate Partner Violence to various agencies around
the State of California .
