In her career with the county, Lilli received several awards. The two
she holds most dear are "Social Worker of the Year" received
in 1994 from California State Foster Parent Association and "Making
a Difference" awarded by San Bernardino County Superintendent of
Schools in 2004.
In November of 2002, Lilli became San Bernardino County's first Child
Welfare Outreach Specialist when she was assigned by the director of Children's
Services to represent the department in presentations and training specific
to mandated reporters. Lilli presented on definitions of child abuse,
indicators and dynamics of child abuse, mandated reporting law, domestic
violence, impact of abuse on child development and other issues related
to child abuse. When asked what she enjoyed most about doing these presentations,
Lilli responded, "Turning hostile audiences around to a kinder, more
understanding perspective of the Department of Children's Services. That
was unbelievably satisfying to me."
In June, 2004, Lilli left the county to pursue her desire to explore
self-employment opportunities, photography, travel and the healing
arts. Lilli now teaches for various Academies throughout California
and presents to various agencies on topics regarding child abuse
and working with children and families.
