Irene Becker, MSW, LCSW
 |
Irene Becker is currently a Training
and Curriculum Specialist at the Public Child Welfare Training Academy,
a trainer and consultant specializing in child welfare, social policy
and organizational issues and has trained child welfare staff on
child development, risk assessment, child maltreatment indicators
and family dynamics of child sexual abuse.
Most recently she has been the Assistant Director for Continuing
Education in the School of Social Work, University of Washington.
She has been coordinator for the Public Child Welfare Academy. She
has been a lecturer at San Diego State University, in the School
of Social Work, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in child
welfare and social policy.

Ms. Becker has previously been a training specialist for the County
of San Diego Department of Social Services, training newly hired
child welfare staff. She has also been a supervisor on the Child
Abuse Hotline, and the Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Program of San
Diego County's Children Services Bureau.
Along with Dr. Loring Jones, SDSU, Ms. Becker has coauthored two
research articles on child welfare issues. She has presented on
several occasions at NSDTA National Conferences. Ms. Becker has
presented a number of papers on child welfare and training topics
to international, national and local audiences.
