Bill James, LCSW started working with teens in residential treatment in 1989, after spending a few years with the Marine Corps as an infantry officer and dabbling in a few other jobs. He graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Psychology in 1984 and from San Diego State University with Masters in Social Work in 1993.

He started working for the County of San Diego in 1993 and has done a variety of jobs in Child Welfare. Since 2002 he has been supervising a unit in Residential Services, and since 2004 his unit has focused on caring for older teens and preparing them for adulthood.

Bill has been supervising staff working on licensure since 2002 and has been helping them hone their interviewing and clinical skills with a variety evidence based practices.
