    Barbara Filner, MA

Barbara Filner has been the director of training for the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) since 1984. She currently heads the Center's Institute, a multi-purpose training and education arm for dispute resolvers.

Barbara has a Masters Degree from Indiana University and has worked in labor as well as governmental fields. She has developed and conducted seminars and workshops in conflict resolution for public and private groups in the United States and Western Europe. She has also taught graduate courses at the University of San Diego's Business School and at San Diego State University.

Ms Filner has been an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law where she taught Negotiations and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She is the author of numerous training manuals and has written two books with Selma Myers, Mediation Across Cultures (Amherst Press, 1994) and Conflict Resolution Across Cultures: Talking it Out to Mediation (Amherst, 1997).

She has been published in the NIDR Forum, a journal of dispute resolution and the San Francisco Law Review. Ms. Filner is a member of a number of professional organizations including the Association for Conflict Resolution and the California Dispute Resolution Council (CDRC).
