PCWTA's
Core Management training was developed as a six-day course composed
of six "stand alone" classes. This course is based on management
competencies drawn from a variety of sources, including the CalSWEC
competencies, the statewide Child Welfare Manger Competencies, the
Institute for Human Services competencies, a Social Work in Administration
journal article, The Child Welfare Institute and the Southern Region's
Academy Task Force meetings. Upon completing all classes in the
course, each trainee receives a Certificate of Completion from the
Academy.
The
Core practice course for middle managers is intended for audiences
consisting of new child welfare services middle management staff
such as Regional Chief/District Managers or other staff persons
performing management tasks which may include, but are not limited
to: planning, organizing, directing, staffing, coordinating, reporting,
financial management and evaluation. This may include Administrative
Analyst staff, "acting" managers, lead line supervisors or management
staff transitioning to new job responsibilities. |
