CORE COURSE FOR LINE WORKERS PCWTA's Core Line Worker Training Course is a 20 day course encompassing, among other topics, 7 classes that have been standardized statewide. Some classes are six hours, some are nine hours and two are 12 hours. PCWTA offers this core line worker course in both the Riverside and the Oceanside Training Centers, delivered over a 6 week period of time. Upon completion of all the classes in the course, each trainee receives a certificate of completion. The classes in
this course are based on competencies developed by the California Social Work
Education Center (CalSWEC) and are intended for new child welfare services staff
or staff transitioning into new job responsibilities. Classes are taught by a
number of different experts in the field of child welfare services who use a variety
of teaching methods appropriate to an adult, professional audience.
