Nancy Kail brings over 20 years of experience in Child Welfare Services to the Academy. She was a social worker, supervisor and manager in San Diego County with varied experiences along the way. She worked in multiple programs including emergency response, voluntary services and continuing services. She was instrumental in the transition of San Diego County's children's shelter facility from Hillcrest Receiving Home to Polinsky Childrens Center (PCC). As a manager in policy and program support, she had the lead in implementing the County's first County Self Assessment and System Improvement Plan. She trained childcare workers at PCC on the Boys Town model of behavior modification. She also trained community providers on mandatory reporting laws.
Nancy is currently the Training Site Director for the Public Child Welfare Training Academy, a division of the Academy for Professional Excellence, at the Oceanside, Calif. training site. In her free time, she likes to read, dance, spend time with her family and friends and travel to Hawaii, at least annually, with her husband Tom. |
