Jong Won Min, M.S.W., PhD

Dr. Min earned his PhD from University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Social Welfare with his dissertation on "The Process and Outcomes of Long-Term Care Decision Making among Korean American Elderly" and his M.S.W. from the University of Calgary, Canada in the concentration of Clinical practice with the elderly. Dr. Min has served as a Teaching Assistant at UCLA, Department of Social Welfare where he taught an undergraduate course entitled: "Public Policy and Aging" and is currently an assistant professor at San Diego State University. He has aided in research on "Cross-Cultural Studies on Elder Abuse," evaluation research on in-home service programs called "Elderly Services Consortium for Asian Pacific Americans," and aided the National Institute of Aging project with a study on "Mexican Americans and Health Care Use." Dr. Min currently has two journal articles under review with the Journal of Aging and Mental Health entitled "Preference for long-Term Care Arrangement and it's Correlates for Older Korean Americans" and "Determinants of Psychological Distress Over Time among Older Korean Americans and Non Hispanic White Elders: Evidence from A Two-Wave Panel Study."
