James Coloma received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development with a minor in Chemistry and Music from the University of California, San Diego. In 2004, James received his Masters of Social Work degree from San Diego State University. Prior to joining the Academy, James taught swim lessons, worked as a teaching assistant in both middle and high schools for the San Diego Unified School District, and has experience conducting research and working with children with developmental disabilities (primarily children with autism).
In his current position with the Academy, James oversees training evaluation for the Public Child Welfare Training Academy, Leaders in Action, Behavioral Health Education & Training Academy, Tribal STAR, and Project MASTER. Also, as part of the Academy's Organizational Development Division, James oversees the Academy's Marketing Team.
James is a native Californian, growing up in Sacramento and moved to San Diego in 1997. He enjoys reading, swimming, running, and watching reality television, especially American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, and Project Runway. |
